Exercise: 26km Walk – Checkpoint 2 to Checkpoint 3 (Supanovas)

Another TW training walk today. Starting at Lysterfield Lake, walking up to Grants Picnic Ground and then turning round and heading back to Lysterfield Lake.

It was perfect weather for walking. Even though it was cloudy, it was warm enough for there not to be a chill in the air. Plenty of other TW people out walking/running too, along with Mountain Bikers!!

We were plagued by flies for about 3km. Very strange as they just appeared from nowhere and then disappeared again! On the return journey we all carried bits of bushes so we could swat the flies away 😀

We had a nice break at Grants Picnic Ground, watching all the tourists feeding the Cockatoos. Unfortunately we missed out on seeing Puffing Billy close up as it was sitting in the Station on the way up, and must have been on it’s way to Emerald on the way back!

We even managed to jog for the last 2.5km. My legs felt great too, which was a surprise!

I must admit to having a sore foot when we finished. It’s on the top of my foot, which is where I had problems the first year we did TW. I will try to remember to strap it next time I’m out doing any distance.

Am too tired to upload photos……later!
